Sound Garden

This mural is located at the Hearing Resource Audiology Clinic in Portland Oregon's Hollywood district. It covers 3 sides of an audio sound booth.

I proposed a whimsical collection of enlarged pollinating flowers and buzzing insects. Speaking to the natural frequencies of sound and botanical sweet pea vines resembling sound waves. Using a limited color palette of the company brand's colors, with stark flat leaf shapes give dimension... and as always, I snuck in heart shapes throughout the negative space.

Using Sherwin-Williams products (thank you for the help) I started with a bond primer on the metal surface and finished with a satin varnish. The entire process was 4 days of actual painting. Many more prepping and planning :)

Such a fun whimsical botanical sound garden!
